About Us

Play Positive Note inspires young musicians to influence the world with their talents and passion.

Music is magical in many ways. Besides its beauty and joy it brings, it can also be a wonderful vehicle for musicians to get to know the society we live in, assume social responsibilities, and ultimately take the leadership role of building a better world for everyone.

As a volunteer group (with nonprofit 513(c)(3) status being filed at this moment) founded in Great Neck, NY, by a group of young musicians, educators, and social activists, as well as being strongly supported by Great Neck School District, Play Positive Note's mission is to foster young musicians to better appreciate the power of music, and encourage them to inspire other kids and engage in social activities that give back to the community.

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier

What We Do

Traditional music education usually focuses on the learning of musics' emotionally expressive aspect, as well as the significant impact on the development of young musicians' character and body. At Play Positive Note, we encourage kids to explore more of music's social functions, and enjoy the compassion satisfaction that comes from influencing others' lives with their music. We believe this would cause a positive feedback loop to the kids' understanding and learning of music. To achieve this goal, here are the programs that we offer.

Positive Scholarship

We celebrate on young musicians' achievements in using their musical talents to help the people around. This scholarship supports and encourages their acts of kindness.
